jDownloads is an extensive Download Manager for the award winning Content Management System (CMS) Joomla. It is a free GPL Extension with many special functions!

Despite the many options, it is easy to use as it integrates seamlessly into the Joomla administration and has the familiar structure and appearance of the Joomla core components. This makes familiarisation much easier.

Get a first overview by taking a look at the list of the most important functions here or visit the new jDownloads Demo installation with some application examples to see what is possible with this download manager. However, this demo only contains the most frequently used functions, as a complete overview is not possible due to the many variations and options. It therefore only shows a few possibilities as an initial overview.

jDownloads 3.2.38 for Joomla 3.2+ is now available for download. Please update as soon as possible. Added in nearly all modules JHTML::_('bootstrap.tooltip'); to overcome change in Joomla1 3.4.4. Added the 'random' sort order in related module.  In content plugin added the missing parts for 'Tags' and 'HTML5 audio and video elements'. Corrected situation where it was not always possible to select succesful a Download from the 'Downloads list' with the editor button plugin.

The new version contains important changes for the frontend upload process in the newest Joomla 3.4.4. It is now also possible to use for video and audio files HTML5 elements instead a 'flash' player. Also added a new option to allow the user to reduce the amounts of levels in the categories 'listbox' in the frontend header. For easy installation go to the Joomla Extensions Manager / Updates and install the new update. You can find details of this and other releases in the download 'details' page.

jdjDownloads 3.2.36 for Joomla 3.2+ is now available for download. Please update as soon as possible. The new version supported now also reCAPTCHA V2 and contains a new special module to view 'related Downloads'.

infoThis weekend have we succesful upgraded our website to the latest Joomla version. On this occasion, we also integrated our external Forums software in a better way with the main Joomla website. We have used  the Joomla extension JFusion to integrate the sites.

The result is working reasonably well but may not be one hundred percent optimal for all users.  Should visitors find any problems with the new site please post it in the forum or use the contact link in the website footer.  Revised 30 Sep 2015

But now your search is over, because we have published the new documentation center today!

We have converted the old FAQ to the new documentation and have also moved all video tutorials to this new location. You will also find a lot of additional help about jDownloads soon. It is planned, to build a source directory with all existing extensions for jDownloads. Shortly will we add a possibility to submit a new source for visitors. Currently visitors can already submit new documentations items.
