Downloads

JComments is an extensive comment extension for Joomla. To use it with the jDownloads series 3.9 you must download the file in this Download.  Afterwards copy the unzipped file, com_jdownloads.plugin.php,  to: components/com_jcomments/plugins.

Please also see thejDownloads  JComments documentation  (opens in a new window/tab) for more details. As well as common sections in the documentation, there are separate sections for Joomla 3 and Joomla 4 where relevant.

Make sure that the option "Activate support for all Joomla content plugins?" is activated in the jDownloads configuration Frontend tab

Do not use Komento and JComments at the same time!

Download the file Komento-com_jdownloads.zip and extract the Plugin 'com_jdownloads.php'.

copy the file com_jdownloads.plugin.php to <yoursite>/components/com_komento/komento_plugins

using an ftp utility such as File Zilla, your site control panel or a Joomla files manager extension.

There will be a file with that name already at that location so overwrite it with the present one downloaded from jDownloads.

Originally created for Joomla articles by Krileon - Modified version for jDownloads 3.9 series. For installation you must use the plugin manager from Community Builder, it is not possible to install it via Joomla installer.

Details all the Options to configure jDownloads 3.9 series

This layout gives a more compact view of the 'details' than those shown by 'Standard Files Layout without Checkboxes v3.2'. This Layout works for all jDownloads menu items.

Click on the image opposite to see an example of this layout. This example has description, an image and a video preview, all of which are optional.

Details all the Options to configure jDownloads 3.9 series

This is for jD3.9 and Komento 3.1.4    It is not compatible with Komento 3.1.2

NOTE If you have Komento 4.0.4 or above you do NOT need a special jD Extension as the one in Komento is compatible with jD 3.9.8.x

Please copy the unzipped file com_jdownloads.php to the Komento components subfolder '/komento_plugins' in your Joomla installation.  Please also see the jDownloads Documentation.
