jDownloads version 4 Stable
- The range of functions in the first versions was almost identical to that of the previous version 3.9.
- But new functions and features will be added step by step in later versions.
Important information
- It is not possible to upgrade directly from the much older version 3.2.x to version 4! In such cases, it is always necessary to upgrade to version 3.9 first. Only then can an update to version 4 be carried out.
- If you want to update an existing jDownloads installation 3.9.x to version 4, please watch this PDF tutorial first:
- For the update, however, at least version 3.9.8.4 must be installed! This must be done before you switch to Joomla 4, after that it is no longer possible!
- If the update attempt is aborted with a message about corrupt DB tables, please read the instructions here to solve the problem.
- Also, always make a complete backup before updating!
- As always, we accept no liability for any data loss.
- If you find and report a bug, we aim to fix it as quickly as possible. This will be helped when reporting a bug to give relevant details so we are able to reproduce the problem.

Developers whose Joomla extensions support jDownloads in any way, or have developed their own plugins or modules for this purpose, must rework their extensions a little bit to be compatible with jDownloads 4.
This special Community Builder plugin allowing showing those Downloads that the user has created in the component jDownloads.
There are two versions of the Download whcih depend on the version of Community Builder you have installed:
This version is for CB build 2.6.4 and later
IMPORTANT
If you have been using the CB 2.6.1or earlier with the jD Plugin and intend to upgrade to to CB 2.6.4 or higher then REMOVE the existing version of the jD Community Builder plugin before you upgrade as described in section Upgrading from jD3.2 to jD 3.9 of the documentation. This is because of changes in CB 2.6.4 for Joomla 3.10 and version 4.

Originally created for Joomla! by Krileon - Modified version for jDownloads 3.9 series. For installation you must use the plugin manager from Community Builder, it is not possible to install it via Joomla installer.
PDFviewer is a Joomla content plugin which make it possible to show pdf files in content based on https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js. Compared to other existing pdfviewer for Joomla this one is focused on integration with jDownloads (which does not have a pdfviewer) and searching.
This is for jD3.9 and Komento 3.1.4 It is not compatible with Komento 3.1.2
NOTE If you have Komento 4.0.4 or above you do NOT need a special jD Extension as the one in Komento is compatible with jD 3.9.8.x
Please copy the unzipped file com_jdownloads.php to the Komento components subfolder '/komento_plugins' in your Joomla installation. Please also see the jDownloads Documentation.
Make sure that the option "Activate support for all Joomla content plugins?" is activated in the jDownloads configuration Frontend tab
Comments are only possible on the Download Details view
Check the settings in Komento
Do not use both Komento and JComments at the same time!!!
