Some jDownloads users are surely wondering what will happen with jDownloads in 2026. I would like to briefly explain the current status and give a little preview. Joomla! 6.0 was released in mid-October. Unfortunately, jDownloads is not yet compatible with this latest version of Joomla. However, in order to enable jDownloads users to switch to Joomla! 6, the necessary adjustments have been in the works for some time. Final testing is currently underway, and I hope to be able to release version 4.1 shortly.
In addition to full compatibility with Joomla! 6, the new jDownloads version 4.1 will include several minor improvements and new responsive standard layouts. New functionalities will only be available in a later version to be released next year.
