jDownloads 4.1.5 Released: Download Security, Router, UserPoints, and Layout Stability Fixes
This update focuses on reliability and security-hardening in core download flows, plus several high-impact fixes reported by the community.
What’s new in 4.1.5
1) Stronger server-side download enforcement
The send/download path now consistently enforces publication windows (publish_up / publish_down), not only publish state.
This ensures expired items cannot be downloaded through direct send-path access patterns.
2) New stable pre-delivery authorization hook
A new early extension hook, onBeforeDownloadAuthorizeJD, has been introduced before delivery side effects are executed.
This gives custom entitlement/policy plugins a safer and more predictable interception point.
3) Cleaner frontpage URLs in routing
When a matching Downloads menu item exists, the router no longer adds an unnecessary /all segment.
Result: cleaner URLs for frontpage scenarios while preserving fallback behavior.
4) UserPoints edge-case fixes
Wallet-vs-price comparisons were hardened for exact-balance cases using stable 2-decimal checks.
We also improved defensive handling around deduction calls to prevent silent inconsistency if deduction explicitly fails.
5) Categories Overview layout stability
We fixed a markup stability issue in category description truncation that could break Cassiopeia sidebar/grid layout in specific setups.
Recommendation
We recommend this update for all jDownloads 4.1.x users.
