Today we have published the next beta 4 release.
jDownloads 4.0.17 beta for Joomla 4 is now available for download. But please note that use of the beta versions on constructive websites cannot be recommended. If you would like to try this anyway, always make a backup of your database and all files beforehand.
Please update as soon as possible. You can find details and changelog of this release in the download 'details' page.
Not all reported bugs are in the new beta release fixed. Unfortunately, there are still problems with some generated URLs when the option for search engine friendly links is used. But we are of course trying to fix this bug and all other outstanding bugs as soon as possible.
New in this release is the added support for the JComments component. Since this is now also available in a Joomla 4 compatible version here. The required plugin can be found here.
We know that many users are urgently waiting for the final stable release to be able to convert their current websites completely to Joomla 4. But we need at least this short official test phase before we can be start with a stable release.

What is still to do?
- Of course, the still open reported errors have to be fixed!
- The documentation for the new version is in progress and will be published or updated step by step.
- The translators will have to wait a little longer, as the new language files have not yet been uploaded to Transifex. We will make up for this in the next few days. But the new language definitions are not that extensive either.
