I have today published the release 1.7.5 stable and it is recommended to update to this new version.

Changed in this release:
  • when exists a file with the same file name, the uploded file name is automaticly changed (in frontend and backend uploads)
  • editor button plugin function advanced (for jDownloads content plugin)
Bugfixes:
  • header category listbox support now sef urls
  • htaccess and .html files not more listed in file listbox from the downloads root folder (edit download)
  • problem with extern link and open defined file types in new window
  • bug when older licenses are deleted and new added
  • a few problems with the edit categories function, when the 'auto creation folder name' option was deactivated
and a few other small bugs.
You can use for this release all existing language packages from 1.7.2.

Update: When you has downloaded in the last hours the build 775, please download and reinstall it again. The new (fixed) build is 776. Or use this fix. We has found in the last moment a bug with the headers category listbox. Sorry for this mistake.

I have today published the release 1.7.4 RC 3 and it is recommended to update to this new version.

New in this release:
  • Functionality added for the new Editor Button Plugin
  • Functionality added for the new Alphauserpoints rule (Downloader to Uploader Rule)
Bugfixes:
  • After upload a pic in a new download, the pic was not selected anymore
  • It was not possible to set self a title alias name in downoads and categories
  • Sometimes was the result page from the frontend upload form not correctly
  • Sometimes was not viewing all Icons/Symbols/Pics in frontend and backend configuration page
  • The categories table field ordering was defined to short 
and a few other little bugfixes.
You can use for this release all existing language packages from 1.7.2.

Please update also all your installed jDownloads module (v1.7) and plugins to the last published releases. Many thanks at all helpers.

infoFor a few weeks was published a new Joomla component: Pay per Download.
With Pay per Download component you can control access to resources on your site based on users membership. You can have different types of memberships, with different levels, prices and expiration dates. Memberships are payed using Paypal IPN.

In the meantime has the developer also created and published a plugin for jDownloads. But make sure, that you has installed jDownloads 1.7.3 or newer.

Update 2010-07-20: I have today found this article on http://membership.opensource-excellence.com. Also with this commercial addon can you sell membership and allow only members to download your files through jDownloads.

I have today published the new release 1.7.2 and it is very recommended to update to this new version.

New in this release:
  • You can now individual scan every category, when the auto monitoring is set off. So this is a better solution for users with many thousand files.
  • You can now select files from the download root folder to update download files
  • Specially for Users which publish Joomla extensions: It is now possible to fill automaticly the download data from the install .xml file in the archive file.
  • It is now possible to upload/select for every download three pictures
Bugfixes:
  • The problem with the multiple joomla module viewing is solved
  • Reorder function in categories list
and a few other little bugfixes.

Please update also all your installed jDownloads module and plugins to the last published releases. The translation team has until today eight language packages updated for the new release. Many thanks at all helpers.

Important: When you has downloaded this file: com_jdownloads_1.7.2_rc_build_762.zip, please download and install it new. The new filename is: com_jdownloads_1.7.2_rc_build_762b.zip. In the first file is a bug with the download folder creation. It is named: downloads but it must be: jdownloads. Sorry for my mistake.
