I have two questions:

can i change the design of the search results in a way that i get the same listing then eg files template?
Whats the best way to do that?

Second: Is it possible to open the search page and preload it with a certain searchword - means show directly a searchresult?

Thanks for advise,
Iris

Hi Iris,
you can change this only directly in the corresponding php files. See pic.
But you should use for this the 'override' feature from Joomla.
It exist many tutorials for this.

By the first click on the search form is this empty. But when the same user use it later again, is the prior used search term already set.

Dear Arno,

i guess this answer refers only to my second question isnt it?
The thing is that im using jdownloads for PDFs/JPGs from our offers - so i have different categories for the type of offers - if its a flyer eg... now there could be 3 offers on one flyer, one for Masai Mara, one for Diani Beach,one for Samburu Nationalpark. I give corresponding keywords - what i would like is to be able to say some lets say in an email "See all our Diani Beach Offers" and link to a page that has done the search with this keyword already - eg if you can give the information with in the URL

My second question was if it is possible to get a search result which looks like the files template?

Thanks,
Iris

Hi Arno,

is there an update? I'd like to have a link to a result page (search component or tag list) with a predefined keyword.

I found something:
If I create a link with this syntax

www.yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=search&searchword=XXX

it works fine for me.

Thought to share if anybody else is looking for something like that.

@Iris
Have you thought about using Joomla! tags.  For example all your Diani Beach offers could have a Tag 'Diani Beach'  The link contained in that Tag will then give a list of the various Diani Beach offers.  The resultant page will then have links to the Download Details of those tagged items and the jD Short Description.  The Tag can have its own Description into which you can add an image.

A very quick example from my test site using a Compact Tag List is attached.  Note that you can also add an image into a jD Description as it is really just like an article.  In my case the tag was named 'pdf download' and the link in each tag was like
http://www.<your-site>/en/tagged-items.html

@Lena
Useful search link, thanks

Colin
PS you can also put a Tag on a jD category but there are some Joomla! related issues with that so just put tags on Downloads
