News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

I just migrated from jDownloads 1.9.2.11 to newest version (3.2.20). After the data update process (step 12 in the instructions), I got no errors. However, my downloads were not migrated. Category data was successfully imported, but all categories were empty.

At this point, i did something that I probably should not have done, I clicked on "Check Download Are now" in the control panel. Now, all downloads were imported as new files and they are now missing their metadata.

Is there a way to rectify this at this point? Why weren't the downloads migrated?

Joomla version is 3.3.6

Hi,
sorry for this 'downloads import' problem. we had this changed in the last version 3.2.20 but it seems that we have added here also a bug.
I will check this tonight or tomorrow so that we can fast publlish a fixed version.

I hope you have backups from the old 1.9.x environment?

Ok, will do that. Should I revert back to 1.9.2.11 first, or can I restore the backup on the current version?

Yes, you must go back complete to the jD version 1.9.2.x:
- also uninstall all newer jD extensions
- delete afterwards all jD db tables
- delete also all new created folders in the upload root folder (default: jdownloads).
- install then again the old version
- after installation message go directly via Joomla menu to jD configuration (do not start the Control panel)
- deactivate her the auto monitoring
- restore then your jD backup
and use the update instructions...

You can the old version download in the archive from here:

Thanks! Now I have all my downloads in place.  :)

It seems the Finnish translation needs some tweaking... I guess I can do something about that. ;)

Thanks for the update! So we can later today publish the next version.  ;D

You are always welcome for translation work. See the information here:
