Substr function issue[solved]

Hi!
I add descriptions in Top Module:

Code Select Expand

strip_tags(substr($files[$i]->description, 0, 250))

But in the place where the text is cut off is displayed symbol �

I think it is problem of UTF-8, but no ideas how to fix it...

Fixed.
Need to use mb_ substr instead substr.
