I get an error when i try to enter the control panel...
but every other Jdownloads page works..
all the other pages in admin and the frontend..

when i click 'Control Panel' this is what i get..
i was importing files, and canceled early, could this have caused the error?
if the utility to import from server is on that page, and prematurely cancelled..

Hi,
sorry for the delay.
Can you send me login data for your backend via PM?

Maybe can it help for the moment to go to the configuration (via backend jD menu) and deactivate the auto monitoring. Try it then again.

I think this is not really a bug, more a problem with the auto monitoring.

I figured it out, i think..
some of the dirs and filenames have commas in them..
and in the database the variable isnt compatible with commas in folder/file names..

The variable is TEXT know if this needs changed, and what to?
for it to store/read, for example (jdownloads, joomla3.exe)

Also, i think i have way to many files for the initial auto import..
So i'll try disabling it, and adding them in smaller imcrements..

Hi,
when you will add very much items (many thousand) with the auto monitoring, you should do it on a local xampp/wampp installation as here can you set the server limits high enough.
When you have lesser you should at minimum set higher a few important settings like max_execution_time and memory_limit.

You must also check the configuration settings in the 'Files and Folders' TAB from the configuration before you run the scan script.

Quoteand in the database the variable isnt compatible with commas in folder/file names..
A comma in folder and file names should not be a problem.

In your case should you also deactivate the 'auto monitoring' and start it manually (via link in control panel) when you need it really.
Also can at be helpful to do a look in the jD documentation...  :)

I moved a bunch of the larger directories out, deactivated auto-import..
i added a little at a time, and ran the importer/linker..
I'll try again a file with a coma.. but i turned on Joomla Debugger and it was
saying syntax error, i figured it was related to the format trying to be
entered/read from the variable TEXT in my DB..

I moved another dir into the jdownloads file storage directory..
i clicked on the scan button and it gave me..

The requested URL /administrator/components/com_jdownloads/helpers/scan.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

a few minutes b4 i scanned fine, and it imported/linked..
i wonder if the server is throttling my resources, after a cpu or memory jump...

Can it be that your jD installation is not correct?
What for a version have you installed?

Please install jD again (newest version 3.2.20) but do not uninstall it before. Check then the installation results message.

/administrator/components/com_jdownloads/helpers/scan.php
that file is there, i uploaded a fresh version of scan.php.. same error..
checked my server usage, hit cpu/mem limit.. so i dont think its a Jdownloads problem..
I think my resources were temporarily limite, as to not cause too much load on the servers..

id like to, and have u fix it or see if there are conflicting plugins etc..

but i don't feel comfortable giving the admin login info to anyone..
i don't trust people, as a general rule....
too much of a liability after years of working on the site...
