Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

I have a few beginners issues:

1. Right now, when we define in template to show the images in listings, and there is no image added for a particular item, still a 'image not displayed' icon appears;  is it possible to hide the icon and make it not to appear?

2. How come we cannot edit custom fields from front end?

3. How can I make the setting that when the user clicks on title of item or the download button, the download pop-up would appear instead of being taken to another page with a download button to do the same. In other words, how to bypass the download button page?

Many thanks,
Amir

Hi,

1) go to the jD configuration TAB Pictures. Then deactivate the corresponding option (see pic)

2) a) have you set the 'edit' permissions in the category/download settings for this user group?
Please read here also the instructions in the documentation for the new series 3.2
    b) see you the custom fields in the frontend?
        When yes:
         - go to the jD 'User Groups Settings'
         - select the required group
         - check the settings on the right column below (pic 2)
        When no:
         - go to the layout manager and add the reqiured placeholder for the custom fields
         - go to the jD 'User Groups Settings'
         - select the required group
         - check the settings on the right column below (pic 2)

3) go again to the jD configuration
    - TAB Downloads (see pic 3)
    - TAB Frontend (see pic 4)
