News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi
In order to help could you please tell me the following.
How did you upload your files? And which directory did you put them in?  What directory structure do you have?

Igor
When you say you need to scan each folder manually do you mean that you want to make individual changes to a download?

Assuming that I have not misunderstood and that is what you want then you can do this from the back end by selecting Downloads from the jD Control panel.  If they are published then if the user has sufficient privileges for the user group they are in, and appropriate view access level, then can also be done from front end.   In the User Groups Settings you can select which questions each user group can enter/change.  Also from the front end make sure you have the Ranking set at a non zero level.  There are sections in the FAQ part of the documentation that will help if you are uncertain.

If I have misunderstood could you perhaps explain why you need to scan each folder manually.

Colin
PS Of course you can also edit the folders by using Categories from the jD control panel.

folder files were uploaded with ftp.
user rights are set as they must be.

i have 400gb of mp3, this script cant autoscan so many files. so i have to scan each folder manuly to add files that are in folders.
monitoring was sej to "on" and folder where added
now monitorin if set "off" and files to be scaned are set "mp3"
in older jdwonloads, the category option in jdownload, use to be a button to manuly scan folder's
i see here is not, is this a bug?

regards

Now I think I understand! :)

I am not familiar with the older 1.9 series so I cannot comment.  There is no facility in the categories list to activate monitoring just for that category.  Sounds a useful idea.  I will add it to the suggestions list

The method at the moment is to upload with ftp say 200 files with auto-monitoring off, and then click on the activate monitoring on the control panel  (right  hand side of Status tab, then 'Check Download area now') for each set as you upload them. Also of course to have automatic publish selected. Would seem sensible to upload to just a single category at a time perhaps.

Hi
I meant to say 2000 - did not know you had so many.

Presume you were on 1.9.2 and are going to jd3.2 series  - why not just follow the upgrade path see
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/how-to-upgrade-jdownloads-component-from-1-9-x-to-latest-3-x-version?category_id=30

Should have thought of that before
