Downloads limits

The JDownloads download limit does not work. The "Activate log function for Downloads" parameter is activated and the "Download Duration Restriction" even set to 1 minute and waiting for the stipulated time does not change the value of the remaining downloads. The Jdownloads log is reporting the downloads correctly.
How do I proceed to effectively activate the daily, weekly and monthly download limit? The JDownloads version is 4.0.28 and Joomla 4.3.1.

The limits are set for UserGroups, that is each UserGroup may have different Limits.
Incidently is your site multilingual?
Also your site could do with updating. The most recent jD is version 4.0.41 and the latest Joomla 4 is Joomla 4.4.9 but you might consider moving to the latestJoomla 5. But always take an Akeeba backup at each stage.
I see that the documentation is dated as July 2023 so after Christmas I will update the article using the latest versions
