News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Dear JDownloads

My host has changed CPanel for Plesk. I have solved the problem of the Path I had to change (prefix) to upload documents to Jdownloads. However now trying again a document (for download) the following error appears: Failed to read the file. I read in this forum about someone else having this problem. Still I am not fully convinced the cause of the appearing of this error is the same. Anyway, question is: can you give me a clue what might be the cause? Does this have to do with the migration of my host from cpanel to plesk as well, how should I solve this then, or is this just a coincidence and also then my request is: how can I solve it?
Basicinfo of the site and server:
Joomla 5.1.0
Php 8.3.6
JDownloads version 4.0.42
Standard Backend
Thank you for your help.
All best Anne

Hi
I am not a PLESK spe***t but I suspect that the structure of the absolute path settingmigght be different
On one of my XAMPP test sites in jD Options- Path Settings the upload directory path is
C://xampp//htdocs//jdx46/jdownloads
on an active site it is
/data/sites/web/sitename/www/downloads

If you find that Plesk is different please let me know and I will update the documentation

Hi
Think I did not read your query properly!. See you have sorted the Upload Directory path - in Path Settings.  As an aside could you give me an example so I can Document.

On what is the main challenge could you do a full error report as described in
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/general-items-v3-9/turn-on-joomla-debug
Need the report in text form not an image
