Modern Routing

Hi JDownloads Team,

I searched all the topics, and did not fine any release date for activating the Modern Routing in the JDownloads Options.
Do you have any plan for it?

Since the 3.x version of Joomla, when a category is assigned to a menu, the category number does not show in the URL.
But in JDownloads, it does not matter if a Download Category is assigned or not, it shows the number.

Category Example:

I assigned a menu, with the exact name of category name, the URL was:
example.com/{menu-name}/category/{number}-{category-name}

But as Joomla Standards it should be as:
example.com/{menu-name}/

Download Example:

URL for download is:
example.com/{menu-name}/download/{number}-{category-name}/{number}-{download-name}

But as Joomla Standards it should be as:
example.com/{menu-name}/{download name}

Hi.
The top priority in recent years has been to make the necessary adjustments again and again in order to remain compatible with the latest Joomla versions. Unfortunately, this took a lot of time with version 4 due to the very extensive changes made by the developers. The search engine friendly links were not that important to me at first, especially since the new option with the 'modern routing' links is not backwards compatible.

But in the near future I would like to revise and adapt this part as well. I will start with this next week. However, I cannot give a final completion date.

I really love JDownloads Extension, and I hope that all the needs will be finished and done soon.

As you know, Modern Routing has very important effect on SEO. Maybe other bugs can be fixed by time, but as soon as we publish websites with the current Routing System, the search engines start monitoring and indexing the links. Therefore, at the time that the Modern Routing is enabled by you, the energy and cost for fixing the indexed URL's in search engines will increase.

As you see, the delay in fixing other bugs or adding new features, has less effect for websites than the Modern Routing.

But thanks for your energy on developing this wonderful extension.

We will be looking forward for the new updates.

Hi Mehdi,
I understand your reasons for asking for faster implementation and will do my best to implement it in a timely manner. Because I know that other users are also waiting for this.

However, I personally have some doubts about the great importance and the real benefit. I myself have had some unexpected experiences with this. But since there are now (expensive) services and tools for this, this market has to be kept alive. But I also have to admit that I am not an expert in this field. So I could also be wrong.

Hi,
Unfortunately, I still have to deal with existing bugs. The release of Joomla 5, relatively shortly after version 4, also causes a lot of extra work.
That's why I simply haven't got around to it yet. This is not something that can be done in a few hours.

And I saw that they are using JDownloads. But their URL is modern URL, and is pretty and simple.
Any Ideas on how they did that?

Yes modern routing is work Outstanding

If you check out oceantheme.org then I think it is not running Joomla 4 or 5 but is still using Joomla 3.  Checked out the css files and they are completely different.

In Joomla 3 and earlier there were several extensions that converted the links to modern routing.
