News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

I succeeded following your advice to switch to Jdownloads 4 (with step jdownloads_3.9.8.7), no error. Thanks a lot for your advice (topic=13923.0).

But  :-\, I have a problem with the tag {jd_file file==xxx}, it is present in different articles, but it is not interpreted .
The plugins Content - jDownloads and Content - jDownloads Tags Fix are enabled.

If you have an idea !

Best regards

Sorry,

I understand, you have to be connected.

So how to have an access for "Public" without restriction : Menu, Tag in content, and so on ? (the web site is an intranet)

Best regards

Hi
It sounds to me that the IDs may have been changed in the upgrade.
I would suggest that you enable the jDownloads Content ButtonSee the article
'Using the Content Plugin in Articles and Modules'  - it is in the Modules & Pluguins section

If you use that it lists the Downloads so you can select them by name

Hi,
Thank for your response. But the problems are of Public Access type. The IDs are the same before update.

If I don't connect :

  • The content of menu type list of all downloads is empty
  • A tag like {jd_file file==xxx} don't appear in a content
  • Different Jdownloads modules don't appear in different positions
If I am connected :

  • All things are there

No parameter allows to change this state and the rights are correct. So if you have an idea.
Best regards

Hmm!
Do not think I quite understand.
When you say you are connected do you mean that you are logged in? Presumeably as Super User. Is that correct?

Just had a thought.

In each of your top level Categories have you set the permissions of the Public User Group to Allow?

Hi,

Same effect if you are logged in "Registred" or "Super User", you can see all.

All the categories have the permissions "Public" and the Download is "authorized (legacy)" for "Public".

Hi,
something fundamental:
- It would be helpful if they described the situation and the misconduct more in detail. Screenshots can also help.
- Of course, the best thing is to have an administrator in the backend to be able to look at the matter in detail.
- Also, you have now described two different problems at the beginning. This complicates the whole thing unnecessarily. Please only one bug report per topic!

Also useful to read: https://www.jdownloads.com/forum/index.php?topic=13732.0

So the first question that comes to mind, is the first posted problem solved?
Best Regards / Gruß

As Arno said  screenshots are helpful

You wrote 'All the categories have the permissions "Public" and the Download is "authorized (legacy)" for "Public".'
Regret I do not understand what you mean by 'authorized (legacy)'
Could you please clarify.
Also do you have Super User access to the backend?

Colin
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Here there is a screenshot of the right of a categorie.

For the access to the backend, we did a test with Arno, but there is an IP condition. If you have an IP, maybe I can request an opening on this IP

Georges,
Can you also please check the permissions settings for the top level categories

Have you set any permission for category or a Download for any User Group to Deny?
Colin
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
All the categories have the same access : Public and  Download is "authorized"
All the files have the same access : Public

For all files if I make a "Accessibility Check" or a "Preview", the response is "La page recherchée ne peut être affichée." Strange !

-----

Best regards

Georges,
Accessibility is for users who have for instance limited vision so it checkes if the page meets the WCAG standards.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with the Joomla! Access critrerion

In the jD backend please go to Categories - it should give you a view like attached pic Categories01.png
Then click on a top level Category which will give a view like pic Categories02.png
Click on the Permissions tab to get a view like pic Categories03.png

Could you please send pics from your site like the ones shown.
Thanks
Colin
------------------------------------------------------------------

Merci

Colin,
It's very nice to help me.

- Categories listing
- The Generale Categorie permissions
- A view of Menu Files listing without login
- BDD : table of categories

Thanks a lot

Hi,
you could try this:
Open and save a basic category and a few from its downloads again.

Have you still the same problem, send me please again your jDownloads tables as DB export. But only the jD tables please!
So I can check it out.

If that doesn't help, I'll send them my IP to get access.
Best Regards / Gruß
