I thought I could actually begin to get things done, but no: the first thing I tried was to create a new category, but upon saving I got the error:

Save failed with the following error: Field 'password' doesn't have a default value

OK, I went to phpMyAdmin and changed the default values of password and password_md5 from 'none' to 'NULL' and I was able to create and save a new category.

Is this what I was supposed to do? Is this still a bug in jDownloads, or is this because somehow my database did not get properly updated upon install?

Here is a screenshot of my jdownloads_categories table.

Should I change all the 'None' and '0000-00-00 00:00:00' default values to 'NULL'? What about in other tables?

If possible I would like to avoid again uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

Similar problem when I try to create and save a new download. I get the error:

Save failed with the following error: Field 'preview_filename' doesn't have a default value.

Also fixed by going into the DB and replacing the 'none' default value to 'NULL'.

Please confirm that I am doing the right thing!

Hi,
it would probably be better to wait. Because they will most likely have to repeat the update process with a newer version. See here:
