Public users unable to download

Hi

I am running
jDownloads Version 3.9.8.1
Joomla! 3.9.28

Got a strange problem that when I try to download a file when using Public access, it displays "Only registered and logged in users can download files from this category."


I have tried the following measures without success
Have changed the DOWNLOAD category permissions for public to ALLOWED.
Within options, have set the Download category permissions for public to ALLOWED
(see attached screenshots)

Any help would be much appreciated

I have sent you a PM Did you set Deny permission anywhere as this has far reaching and unexpected side effects?  Basically never use DENY permission
Also if you have set an allowed permission in a category this will propagate down the sub categories and Downloads so usually there is no need to set them explicitly on Downloads
