News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi
User Group settings allows specifying the uploadable file typesand Preview files when creating/editing in Front End (do not forget to set Ranking value!!)
Other places are for backend in
Config - Downloads tab  "Which file types are to be opened in the Browser?"
Config Monitoring tab "Monitor only the following file types:"
Config Uploads tab - "Allowed image extensions: " and "Other allowed file extensions:"

but I meant to ask, where do type the list of extensions that are allowed, I have done it in user group settings allowed file extensions, but I know I have to put the list of extensions somewhere else in the system (maybe in  joomla system settings)

Hi
As far as I recall the only other places where one needs to specify extensions are in the backend Configuration.
Config - Downloads tab  "Which file types are to be opened in the Browser?"
Config Monitoring tab "Monitor only the following file types:"
Config Uploads tab - "Allowed image extensions: " and "Other allowed file extensions:"
