I am using the PDFviewer joomla content plugin. My website modules has summary links without the PDFviewer. The viewer is more useful for previewing downloads before deciding to download each PDF file.

How can I use the syntax for the summary page? I am trying to avoid having to open each module to change hundreds of links /summary to /downloads

PDFviewer can use them in 'downloads' and 'downloads details' layouts.

    {pdfviewer jdownloadsid={file_id} filename="{file_name}" }

jDownloads: Layouts: Downloads
<div class="jd_download_url jd_download_url_position" style="">{url_download}  {pdfviewer jdownloadsid={file_id}

jDownloads: Layouts: Summary
<div style="text-align:center; padding:5px;">{download_link}  </div>

Hi
I am not sure I understand properly but I think you are saying you would like to add download capability into the Summary layout and also include the pdf viewer. It seems at the moment you are using a modified Download layout which I think is based upon the  'Standard Files Layout without Checkboxes v3.9'. This obviously works well.

So perhas you coud continue to use your modified Download layout but also use a modified Summary Layout that actually does nothing - you do not use captcha, a license, external downloads or any of the other facilities in the Summary layout.

I understand the directions.

However, I need to use the Summary Layout because hundreds of links manually added in modules to the /summary downloads.

I was only inquiring if it was possible to add the syntax to avoid having to manually change each link to /downloads layout.

Hi
Looks to me that you need to change the links to use a downloads layout. Obviusly need to test with a few. Also it might be an idea to make a copy of the Download Layout you plan to use. If you use the copied layout then you will not be subjected to any change in that layout - I think any change is, however, very unlikely.
Best wishes
