Remove BOF marks from mp3 tags

The field values taken from the file tags in mp3 files are including the BOF mark before the text (e.g. Artist:
ÿþClutch). Can this be fixed?

This occurs when the encoding is ID3v2.3-UTF16  - need to switch encoding to UTF8.  I use an MP3 tag Editor such as MP3tag
