My question is: which PHP version jdownloads 4 should work with 8 or 8.2?

The present recommendation is 8.0 but Joomla has many updates made to support PHP8.1 and 8.2
I am currently running on PHP 8.1.16 on website server and on XAMPP 8.0.7 but I anticipate moving the XAMPP to PHP 8.2.4 soon.

I use 8.1.x almost exclusively. PHP 8.2 only for tests.
