Download Package / multiple categories

Hello I have two more questions:

Question 1) Is it possible to bundle up more than 1 file to one "Download"? I'd like to provide 1 Word-Doc, 1 PDF-File and 2 Photos as one Download. (How) does it work? (Instead of 4 individual downlaods).

Question 2) It is possible to make a file or download available in more than on category? Example: I have two user groups with individual files (target group). But, there are some files that shall be downloadable for both usergroups.



Frage 1: Kann man mehrere Dateien als einen Download bereitstellen? Ich würde gerne Word- und PDF-Datein zusammen mit Fotos als einen Download (1 Click, im Paket) anbieten. Das ist für Pressemitteilungen ideal!!

Frage 2: Kann man Dateien oder Download in mehr als 1 Kategorie zur Verfügung stellen? Für die meisten Downloads habe ich jew. Usergruppen mit speziellen Downloads. Aber es gibt Dateien/Downloads,die in beiden Usergruppen verfügbar sein sollen. Doppelt pflegen: kein Bock ;-), Eine weitere Usergruppe/Zugriffsebene anlegen scheint mir zu aufwändig.

Yes you can select the same file for different Downloads
In the files tab when creating a download there is a 'Select from existing Download' option see pics below

Note you will need to ensure that the permissions are set correctly - probably best with another UG

There are two ways: you could pre-package in a 'zip' file (I use 7z.exe) or you could use a layout with checkboxes.  In the checkboxes case then jD creates a temporary zip file which is downloaded.  The checkbox layouts are only effective with List all Categories or List a Specific Category type menu items; they do not work with List All Downloads menu items.

The solution with category layout won't work for me, because they are files from various categories. Actually THIS is the reason for the demand of "Download Packages/Bundles" ;-)

Scenario:
We habe a category with general photos, project files (word docs) and a PDF-File with current news. Thus, I'd like to bundle a "Press Pack" ;-)
- 2-3 photos
- 1 project file
- PDF with press text

Yes, I could ZIP them up But, meanwhile photos or project files could change (be updated). With a Download-Bundle the press always had a fresh, current info bundle :-)

Well, I like jDownloads anyway ;-)
