News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

categories > edit category > additional data > select category symbol > [save] > the category symbol is broken

A minor annoyance - It turns out jdownloads does not tolerate spaces in category symbol filename so "category symbol.jpg" is registered as "categorysymbol.jpg". As a result the jpg is not displayed.

Hi
I cannot seem to reproduce this - please see pics attached.  The only one that failed to upload was if I used a jpeg extension.
Maybe because I am checking out a pre-release of jD 3.2.19  (due very soon).  Or perhaps there is some configuration difference :-\
I even checked out the generated code referred to one with the space in it.

Maybe had krzysiek used a older jD version.

I've updated to 3.2.20 and the problem is still there. In the back-end category edition symbol is shown after selection, but after you press "save" it disappears and the code shows filename without spaces: "some picture.jpg" becomes "somepicture.jpg"

How to check if it is the server that doesn't allow spaces in filenames?

Ah... please check your settings in the configuration for Files and Folders.

@krzysiek
The suggestion is that to test further you set the config option to replace spaces with underlines.

Have you tried what happens if the file you upload has spaces in its name?

Also could you advise what server etc you are using please.
