Is it possible to add Featured downloads option?

So we can add different css styles for featured downloads

An interesting Suggestion. Do you mean that there should be a method of denoting a Download as Featured, and showing the 'star' symbol in listings? And further to have a Module called say Featured Downloads which listed a selected number of Featured downloads?

Yes, it's correct. It should be same as in com_content

So, we can add news css styles for featured items. Not only star. We can add background, borders e.t.c.

In template code we need add condition - if item is featured, then item class="my featured class"

Not sure it could be done quite as you suggest as that would be a lot of work. Will have to see what Arno thinks.

Ok, no needs to do a lot of work with templates.
You can only add option "Featured", then webmasters can manually do anything they need.

But for what shall be a Download: 'featured'? ::)

This is way to pay user attention to specific download.

Also you can add this option to your modules:
Display only Featured downloads
Do not display Featured downloads
It's very convenient option to make site more flexible.

The new 'featured' functionality is in work and shall come with next versions update.
I think it could be ready in a few days.
