you have an old Joomla version 3.3.6 and an very old jDownloads version 3.2.19 installed!!!
We can not give support for old jD versions. So please read  the hints here:

before you post next time a supposed bug! The described bug is already fixed in the meantime!

Hi Arno,

The 3.2.19 version that is installed on my development site is just an example of when the software was actually working. On my live server, I have jdownloads 3.2.35 and that is the version that is showing duplicate entries when there are multiple menu items or modules pointing to a single category. Giving you access to the old version on the development server was simply a way for you to see if the bug was introduced during one of the jdownloads updates. If you'd like, I can update 3.2.19 to 3.2.35 and see if the bug is introduced.

Hi Steve,
the given link is your development site. Okay. And here is the result correct.
This is normal, as we have first to a later point changed the mysql query in some cases. Afterwards we had sometimes double results when it exists nmenu items to single categories. This is known and should be solved with one from our the last updates.

It is not always easy to reproduce bugs like this but i will try it again.
Have you  more as two menu items to the same category?
Is in the development site the same menu structure as in the public website?

The development site and the public site have the same menu structure. The error is most noticeable in the Technical Notes menu item under the Business User, Instructors, and Students menu heading as there are three different menu items pointing to the same single category. I also have the same issue when there is a module and menu item listing the same single category.

I have just updated the live site to jDownloads 3.2.36 so it has the most recent version installed and is still displaying the behavior of displaying the same download multiple times in the list.

Hi Steve,
i could not reproduce your problem here. I have tried it with some single menu items for single categories and also with some modules.
So i think we have only this option to find and solve the problem:
- you send me a complete akeeba backup from your development website (without the files from the /jdownloads/ folder).
- afterwards i can install it here locally (via akeeba kickstart)
- then it is easy to find the bug with my debugger

So please create the backup and send me a download link via PM.

You want the development site in which everything is working properly or do you want the live site which is showing the error?

I think it should be enough your backup site. I can here install then the latest version  and then should we have here the same (wrong) result. Or not?

I got the same Problem. Our site is multilanguage and the downloads are all the same. But for this reason, we have 3 menuitems for the same category. Result: Each download Shows up 3 times.

Arno is working on a solution.  So it will be soon but it is impossible to define how long it will take to resolve with a robust solution.  Fortunately it is simple to reproduce.  It only seems to appear when there are multiple single category menus active that specify the same category.

Could you confirm that is the same on your site by temporarily disabling one of the single category menu items or by making it specify a different category.  Any confirmation of the causes would be helpful.

sad to say but it is not so easy to fix this bug. Possible that we need a 1-2 days more for it, since we will contact for the help also other developers.

Sometimes could it be a temporary solution to deactivate the single category links until we have solved this issue.

i hope i have now found a solution to fix this bug.
The solution is not perfect but should be a help for the moment. A better fix will come with the version 3.x.

I have checked it out and it now only lists the downloads once.  Had two menu items both listing the same single category.
