Hi!
I was wondering if it is possible to automatically attribuite an appropriate icon to PowerPoint files (".ppt" or "pptx"), as it happens currently for pdf, doc, docx, zip etc.

In order to do this, I created a png image, which I named "ppt.png", and I uploaded it (via ftp) in the folder: ROOT/images/jdownloads/fileimages, but unfortunately nothing changed in the frontend, where I still get the "Default image for Downloads" ("zip.png").
If I assign the mentioned icon to a single download, "ppt.png" is correctly displayed in the fronted, but I would take too much time to change downloads icons one by one...

Another question I would like to ask is if it is possible to show the filename extension (file types such as ".pdf", ".doc", ".png" etc.), after the filename, in the frontend...

Thank you very much for your kind help and useful job,
best regards,
gcal

Hi
What were the characteristics of the image you uploaded? The norm is PNG image data, 48 x 48, 8-bit colormap, non-interlaced

jDownloads shows the Download Title not the file name -maybe this could be option later but not soon.

as you have created the old Downloads, a ppt.png image exist not, so the 'as default' image defined pic was assigned to this Download.
The script can now not know, that you will not longer use the 'zip.png' for it. So you can only do this manually or via phpmyadmin with a MySQL query. But be careful in this case.

You can display the complete filename with extension...

Hi everybody!
Thank you very much for your answers.
Using the right image settings, as Colin suggested, the icons are correctly displayed for files uploaded after the creation of the icon itself, as Arno explained me. For previously published downloads I will manage to find a solution either via MySql or manually.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find and activate the option you kindly suggested me. Is it  in 'configuration' panel or somewhere else?

Once more, thanks for your help and best regards,

You must add for this type of content a special placeholder in the activated layout(s). Read the descriptions in the layout edit pages.

Hi Colin,
here is the icons I'm using in my site. If they are useful and appropriate, I'm proud to offer this little contribution to the project!
Best regards,
gcal
PS: icons ".ppt" and ".pptx" that I send you are identical, as I've seen you use the same default icon for "doc" and "docx" files.
