Meta Description field cleared on Save (jDownloads 4.1.3 - Joomla 5.4.5)

Hi Arno,

I want to report a persistent bug in the Category edit view.

Issue:
Since three versions ago (including the current 4.1.3), every time I write a Meta Description in a category and hit "Save", the field is automatically wiped out and becomes empty. However, the Meta Keywords field works perfectly and stays saved.

Technical Details:

jDownloads Version: 4.1.3

Joomla Version: 5.4.5

PHP Version: 8.4

Workaround: I have verified that if I manually insert the description directly into the metadesc column of the #__jdownloads_categories table via SQL (phpMyAdmin), it works and displays correctly. But as soon as I save the category again through the Joomla admin, the field is cleared.

Is there any specific fix or SQL adjustment I can apply to prevent the admin interface from clearing this field?

Aside from this, jDownloads 4.1.3 is running very smoothly and fast. Thank you for your great work!

In User Group settings 'Group creation/Editing Settings in the 'tick box section, have you 'ticked' both Meta Description and Meta Keywords for the user group you are using?
