ACL structure

Do I need to create a custom user group and a dedicated access level just for that user, or is there a more efficient built-in option in jDownloads for assigning per-user download permissions without affecting the rest of my site's ACL structure?

Hi,
There are several articles deaing with jD user groups at Access and Usergroups

I am not quite sure what you are asking but the jD usergroup settings are independant of the Joomla ACL settings except for the priority from super user to public user. A useful starting point is the article An Initial view of permissions

PS I see you have listed as being at Joomla 3.2 - that is strange so maybe you could clarify
