Hello

How do I set the permissions so that only registered users can download a file and the license must be confirmed?

When I'm logged in as a super user for testing, everything works fine. When I register as a user, I see the download buttons, but not the checkbox for confirming that I've read the license terms.

License confirmation is active on all downloads. It's just that they don't appear on the website for activation, except when I'm logged in as a super user.

So it's a permissions issue. Where can I set this permission so that it works?

I currently have the following permissions set (see images).

https://ibb.co/0V697jcK
https://ibb.co/Psz4g4WM

The system is:
- Joomla 5.2.3
- jDownloads 4.0.47 Stable
- PHP 8.3

Thanks for the support.

Best regards,
Eugen

Hi
In the User Group Settings for Registered specifically the Group Creation/Editing Settings, scroll down to the 'tick box selection.  Then in the Additional tab section, ensure both Licence and Confirm License are 'ticked'.

Hello Colin

Thank you for your support.

I have now been able to resolve the issue.

1) First, I checked the group permissions in jDownloads. By default, the check boxes for licences and licence confirmation are always enabled. That is fine.

2) The problem was with the captcha. We use Cloudflare's Turnstile captcha. I can recommend it to everyone.
By default, anti-spam protection is enabled in the group permissions, which explicitly requires a Joomla captcha. So if you use a different captcha and do not disable this setting, the licence confirmation check box does not appear before the download.

The result: you cannot start a download.

I have added the necessary settings here in the illustrations. They should help others to solve this problem as well.

Now everything works fine.

Joy reigns! :-)
