News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi everyone,
I'm Bellegarde and new to the forum, though I've been using Joomla for a while. I recently installed jDownloads 4.0 on a Joomla 4.4 site, and I've run into a strange bug I can't seem to find mentioned anywhere.
Whenever I create a new category, upload a file, and then save it, everything looks fine at first. But as soon as I go back to the frontend, the file link is gone. Even stranger—when I check the backend again, the category is still there, but the file has completely vanished (not unpublished, not in trash, just gone).
I've tried clearing cache, double-checking permissions, and even reinstalling the extension, but the problem persists. The behavior seems random: sometimes the file stays visible until I refresh, and sometimes it disappears right away.
Has anyone else experienced this issue in jDownloads 4.0? Could it be related to database sync or maybe something with Joomla 4.4 compatibility?

Hi
Please confirm which version of jDownloads you are using - it should be 4.0.47.
Please describe how you are creating downloads?
It should be by clicking on Components, then on jDownloads. Next on Downloads-this opens a new page. Near top right click on the New buuton
In the Documentation https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation in the Getting Stared Section there are some useful articles, incuding 'Creae a Download in the Backend' and its compaion 'Create a Category in Backend' Note the categories referered to here are jDownloads Categories not Joomla catrgories or similar.

Best wishes
Colin
