I have a clean current Joomla 3.10.2 installed.
I currently have JD 3.9.8.1 installed.

the download does not work.

Does anyone have a tip why this is not possible?

Problem was due to hosting service

Hi,
I did some tests on various browsers with http://www.freyburger.de/
Google Crome, AVG Secure, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Firefox

The most useful one was fireFox -see pics below All the others gave ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

At the top right of the page is a Select Language which will tanslate automaticaly- you need to reselect when you open an article

I found a solution.
A proxy is connected upstream in my new provider hosting package (64Bit Hosting Domainfactory). But I only found out after searching.
That was the problem that files couldn't be downloaded.

In the solution it was written that you should put an entry at the beginning of the .htaccess file.

Code is:
Header set Accept-Ranges none
RequestHeader unset Range

is it possible that the new version of JD also works without the entry in the .htaccess file?

I don't have that much idea what the entry does, but it works.

As indicated in my earlier post this is a site specific item due to the hosting service you have used.  Such hosting 'challenges' are not uncommon!!


It is not possible for jD or any other application to get around this  - having the correct item in your .htaccess file is the only viable solution  -- it governs how applications communicate with your hosting site  - and if it is any consolation I aso find htaccess items 'Challenging'
