I have a new install on a developing site. When one set of subcategories end, another copy repeats. I have uninstalled and deleted all the tables and  reinstalled with no change in results.

Think I understand that you are saying if you request a listing of some downloads in a sub category then you get the same view twice
Is this from a particular menu item such as the jDownloads @single Category' type menu item?
