News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Moved downloads to a new category and the tags went missing

Hi,

I had a huge number of downloads in one category and decided to create subcategories. After doing so I moved (via batch) the downloads to the different subcategories. All semmed fine. A couple of days later I detected that all downloads were no longer tagged. I "guess" this was caused through moving to a subcategory. Did I do something wrong? Can you recreate this "problem".

It would be good to know... I'm not going to tag 2000+ downloads... I can "live" without the tagging... but I'm angry about the lost work and time.

Nevertheless I love this extension!

Hi
Lena
Understand your frustration.  This is a Joomla! problem.  Some time back the Joomla people changed some code to do with tags but forgot about external components that use categories.
For a long time there was 'reluctance' to admit there was a "challenge".  It looked at one time as if Joomla 3.6.5 was going to fix the issue - but it missed -again!!

I will see if I can reproduce

Hi Colin,

thanks for understanding.

I know jdownloads isn't at fault. From now on I', thinking of using other solutions for tags... custom fields maybe ;-)
