Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hello,

I have removed and re-installed the latest version for Joomla 3 which I am running Joomla 3.3.6.  I changed the location of the directories and had this problem, so I un-installed and removed all of the files and re-installed not touching the file locations thinking this might help.   It did not, if I manually look in the /public_html/jdownloads directory I can see the new files I upload but they are not listed when I click on the files "tab" from within the component.    I have the config set to not publish new files.

Any help would be great so I can resolve this issue.

Thank you,
Mike

This sounds very related to your other query.  http://www.jdownloads.com/forum/index.php?topic=7586.0

When you uninstalled did you manually delete the jDownloads database entries?  Did you copy the files from the  jdownloads and the jdownloads/images directories, and then delete those directories.  Did you also uninstall all the jDownloads plugins and modules before re-installing?

ColinM,

I wanted to move the location of the jdownloads file directory under the images directory so the client could use the media manager to upload files if wanted but when I did that I ended up with two jdownload directories and figured that would be move confusing for the client so I tried to swith it back and it was still using the the wrong directory and I could not figure out how to correct this.   So I uninstalled the extension, manually deleted the database tables and files since the uninstall left them in place and then re-installed.

Thank you,
Mike
