I added some allowed file types to the upload area but it I s still only showing the default allowed. Is there something else I need to do?

Hi
Just for clarity you were using the Files option which allows you to add files for making into Downloads.  If the file extensions were listed in 'Uploads- Other allowed File Extensions' or 'Uploads - Allowed Image Extensions' then they were successfully converted into Downloads.
But if the extensions were NOT list then the upload does not work.

This the defined action of the Files facility see Using the Files facility
One solution is to add the extra extensions to option 'Uploads- Other allowed File Extensions'
Alternatively if you look at the documentation you can use say FileZilla or your site File Manager to upload to the jdownloads directory.

Here is my "other allowed files" list:
zip,rar,pdf,doc,txt,hpkg,tgz,7z,lha,csv,ace,hqx,sit,toast,iso

Any ideas what to do or give you access to my config?

Hi
I have had no trouble loading up files with extensions csv and iso from the backend - they are in  category Other Files. I was a super user.  Is the problem for other users in different user groups?
Please advise

It is users uploading via the front end. I have user uploads enabled and if they upload say a ZIP file it works fine. But it does not show the new files allowed:

Any ideas why the other types don't show up? The user in question is in the Publisher user group

Hi
For users who are allowed to upload and create Downloads from the Front End, then their setting are in the 'User Groups' settings.
So in the Components click on jDownloads and then select 'User Groups Settings'.  This opens up a page showing all the User Groups.  If you have one or more users in say the Registered User Group then click on Registered.
This opens up a view with three tabs. these are allthe 'seettings' for that user group.
For example if you need to to allow files with a different extension the you will find in
the 'Group Creation/Editting tab the option to include extra file extension types.  It is on the right hand side.
