Hello,
I'm looking for a possibility to show all download items of one category, but not in the main position, the shall be listed in the right side. But there are only modules for "last updated", featured, etc. How can this be realized?
thx

There is no module that does exactly what I think you want but....
if the Downloads you wish to show are in a sub category which has no further sub categories then you can use the Latest Module.  Set the number of Downloads to 0 and it will show all the downloads'
In the module itself set the Category type to 'Containing Category' and set Show Categoegories to No.

On the Menu Assignment Tab set 'On all Pages'
You can also change the Title to say My Downloads or what ever

Thanks! works fine. Is it possible to show the description text of the files too?

Hi
In the module set 'View Download Description as a Tooltip?' to yes. Then when the user hovers over the  download name the description will appear.  To let the user know, then in the 'Text Before' add something like "Hover over Download Title to see Description"  (without the ").

The Tooltip I have seen, but how does this work on a mobile phone? There is no mouse to mover over the link. So it would be better to activate as a "real" text.

Andy,
You can add a cursor to a mobile phone
But are you showing in the sidebar on a mobile phone?
Think it would be better to revert to showing on main screen
Could you send me a link so I can see and understand better.
How long are your descriptions?
To get the descrption actually shown as part of the main display would mean significant changes to the module.
Best wishes

Hi Colin,
I have one menu item with several information articles as a blog. But beside there are some additional PDF documents. So the description is only one or two sentences. The right side is no problem on mobile because at a small display this will move down.
A link is not possible, because this is in the internal part of the website. I can give you an account via PM.
In the meanwhile I have another idea to solve this: what about switch the things: jDownload in the body and the article blog list in the top-a area.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards

Think that will work.  I presume your articles are 'regular' Joomla articles. The display of a list of articles or the aticles themselves would be OK in top-a area. You could also have an article
or articles with the jD content pluging that gives links to download the the pdf files
(if you are unfamiliar with the jD Content plugin see article 'Introduction to jD Content in Articles etc'
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation?view=article&id=269&catid=30 )

Think the key is to use the Regular Labs 'Modules Anywhere' (free version) as the standard Joomla article or atticle category do not allow specifying the the position
More tommorow
