Hi, I have a category that previously was displaying a list of entries is now giving a 404 error, the link index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=category&catid=9 is a valid cat id and contains itms all are published and are public. Any ideas what could have done this, I have emptied cache on both Joomla and browser.

This occurs any on category, even if I click the link icon in the jdownload:catagories page.

Hi
Have you still got a List All Categories menu item?  Also check the contents of Config- Downloads Upload directory pah

Hi

Thanks for your help, I found that when I removed the user upload folder; which I had set to 'user_uploads' then the category listing started to work again. So I have now disabled user uploads, as I need these to go into a dedicated folder away from the main download folders ( to keep user stuff separate).

unfortunately am unable to give external access to site, as it is on internal network.

Hi
Why not put them in a new top level category?  You can use Permissions and view Access levels to protect them and limit access.
