Login on direct links from extern

Hello, I use files on my page which are protected to be accessed only from registered users. When I use direct links to the files on external Webpages, than the files could not be downloaded, if the user is not logged in to my Webpage. Thats right, but the link from extern only runs in a timeout if user is not logged in. It would be better if the user gets the loginsrcreen and after Login the download starts. Is it possible to activate this function? How do I do that?

It is not possible as this function not really exist. It is also not planned to add here anything for this special situation.

But why get you an timeout?
Can you send me an example via PM? Maybe is your link incorrect.
