News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi
I presume you are using Joomla 3 to run jD3.9.87.
This is not a simple process. So please see article Upgrading from jD3.9 to jD4 -November 2024
The article describes the process in some detail.

Colin,

Thank you for help. I read the article but my problem is that is not the same joomla installations. I´ve got a joomla 3.x and a new joomla 5.x, and I would like to move the files from joomla 3.x to joomla 5.x.I´ve got a few file in joomla 5.x but not the great majority. And some of the files in joomla 5.x has been removed in joomla 3.x and I would like that these changes to be made.

Can be done through the DB?

Best Regards,

Borja

Hi
The simple answer is 'no'.  You really do need to go through the upgrade process as that is the way it was designed to happen.  Any other route may or maynot work or worse it may make a partial transfer.
I have difficulty in understanding your reluctance, the regular upgrade path from j3 to j4 is straight forward.  Then very simple to take Joomla to v5.

Best wishes

Colin,

My problem is that i did the migration a few months ago following the updating process(i would say before the stable version was ready). My new site is not already in production so I need to move the changes that have been done between the upgrade donde a few monts ago to the new version.

I don't know if i explain properly,

Borja,
OK , you are right I do not understand!  So please advise what is the version of Joomla and what is the version of jDownloads on the site.

Also do you have an Akeeba backup so you can get back to an earlier situation?
