News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi
Will be pleased to help.  Please ensure that before upgrading that you take a backup (Akeeba).

The process is in two stages:

1. upgrading from jD3.2 to jD3.9
For details of the see
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/getting-started-v3-9/upgrading-from-jdownloads-3-2-to-3-9
Note that, as explained in the documentation, the upgrade process is carried out twice.

2. upgrading from jD3.9 to jD4
For details of this stage see
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/getting-started-v3-9/upgrading-from-jd3-9-to-jd4

If there is something you do not quite understand then please ASK.

Note that in the upgrading you will need to change the your PHP level.  Discuss this with your hosting service.

When I am doing an upgrade I make a written plan of what I need to do. :D
