Hi,
the problem i had in this topic: http://www.jdownloads.com/index.php/support-forum.html?topic=12093.0 still exists. Sorry for not getting back sooner had to prioritize other projects for a bit.
In the meantime i have completely removed JDownloads from this installation and then reinstalled. Reverted back to default layouts too now to see if that is the culprit but still no luck. What happens is when i am on the front-end the selected sorting is being reset when navigating to the next page. When next pages loads it reverts back to the default order set in the menu item.
Hope this explains better what exactly is going on.
This url still has the issue: https://schaken.tltest.nl/diversen/schaakrubrieken-in-limburgse-bladen i now set it to sort by name as default in the menu item. it's A-Z. When in front-end i change it to Z-A showing "2018-09-26 - rubriek in weekblad VIA Limburg" as first item. the second page should end with 2015 as oldest date in the sort. When you switch to page 2 it shows "1935-03-23 rubriek in Limburgsch Dagblad" as first item. but it should've been "2017-12 dec - rubriek in De Limburger en Limburgs Dagblad".
Hi,
please could you try to use only the jD option setting for this (TAB Frontend) and use in the menu item only: Use Option Settings.
Only a test. Thanks.
See also the pic below. Some errors on your page.
Hi
You wrote
Quotenow set it to sort by name as default in the menu item
I had missed that as I had set the default in the Options Frontend tab -Downloads 'default frontend sort order' as Alphabetical. The Backend sort order was set to 'id descending' and it was those two I have been comparing! So I was not reproducing your test!!
Presume you are using the List All Downloads menu item
If you change a selection on the visible page in jD3.9.5 then when showing the next page it reverts to the order selected in the Menu item. You would like it to stay with the menu order selected on the previous visible page.
Have now tested on jD 3.2.70. It holds the menu setting sort order across pages.
So now I have replicated the problem - sorry for the confusion
Colin
Colin,
I think this is an issue with jD 3.9.5.
By the way, the version 3.2.70 is practically the same as 3.2.69 and still not published as it is not required for the upgrade.
This indeed is latest JD and not an upgrade anymore but a clean installation.
I need still here a result please:

Yes going to try that now.
Ok these are my settings now. I think this is how you wanted me to set this up right?
If you look at the post values it only posts limit start not filter settings when navigating to other page with the pagination. See screenshots.
Thanks. I will check this at the evening.
Thank you :) i'll check back tomorrow. Have a great day!
This message is from the user TLWebdesign but was posted in a wrong topic:
QuoteHi Arno,
it seems the problem has to do with the template i'm using. when changing to default (something i should've done way earlier) it works.
In the front-end i noticed when i change to default it starts using GET instead of POST to jump to another page. Seems T4 framework from JoomlArt doesn't play nice here. Will go bother them now.
Sorry for the time i wasted... and thanks for all your support.
Kind regards,
Tom
