Title: show_empty_categories fails to work
Post by: HerKle on 12.09.2016 14:53:13
Hi,

I set "show empty categories" to "no" - but still in the categories overview there it shows "Category XY - 0 files". The category contained two unpublished outdated files, which I removed - but still the category remains in the list as you can see here (in German):
http://alkoholpolitik.de/index.php/dokumente

What's wrong with it? Thanks for any advice, Herbert

Hi
The config option in Front Edn tab 'Show empty categories message?' stops showing a message such as  'No files are available yet for this category'.
The number of categories in the List all Categories and similar is still shown.  So this is not a bug!
But it could be a suggestion.
Colin
PS I have moved this topic to Suggestions

Thanks for make me understand the system! Until this suggestion will be realitiy, I will simply have to unpublish those categories with no files... and try to remember to re-publish them as soon as they get one. :-)

And still ... I don't understand the jD system completely: while on the general overview (http://alkoholpolitik.de/index.php/dokumente) a category with no file is listed, in the next level (http://alkoholpolitik.de/index.php/dokumente/category/3-grundsatzpapiere) it isn't. In the example it says in the header "13 subcategories" (which is the total number including those without file) while in the following list I count nine subcategories – exactly those with files – leaving subacategories without files unshown.
That's what confused me in the first place.
Regards, Herbert

Hallo Herbert,
die Option existiert bereits und vermutlich hast du sie auch verwendet. Siehe Bild.
Wenn dem so ist, kann man das Problem sich live ansehen? Bitte Link etc. via PM.
