Store Files: Remote or Local
Files can be hosted local or linked from a remote server. Also possible: links to sharehoster files.

Hi
Just for clarity I should explain that a jD Download cosists of two principle parts

So I think your question is that you want to have the files stored at some other web loaction. That this might happen to be a sub domain is not significant.
Hence you want the file to be stored on a remote site. You have to upload the file to the remote site youself using say ftp or the remote site's cpanel or equivalent.
In the External file field you nneed to put the full location of the file eg  http://www.othersite.com/somedir/asubdir/filename.type
Say No to the next question.
