Title: download rights issue
Post by: whitemike on 20.08.2015 21:20:38
I have within the same category 2 files (with to my understanding) have the same access-rights.

1 file i can download the other not .

when i just tried to doublicate the entry of one which i can download the result is again a file which i can't download

any idea what i can check ?

Hi
Clearly there is some difference! :) Have you checked the Access rights as well as the permissions?
Do both Downloads have actual files associated with them?  Probably but worth a check.
Have you used Deny permission anywhere?  It is likely that if you you have used Deny permission there are side effects that are not obvious!

If you need more assist could you describe the category structure please.  And which user group are allowed to download?

Colin

we have a quite simple structure

several 1.level categories with the same access rights :
public group not not have access to the categories
"full"-members can download all files within the different categories

to be implemented (not yet implemented)  members can only see but not download

Hi,
sorry for the delay. I had not seen your post before.  :-\

You should activate the debug option in the Joomla global configuration. Afterwards can you check which settings are incorrect. See description here in documentation: http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/show-permissions-graphically-an-overview
