What it says ... I'd like to not display the number of downloads on the download items ... I've done this in an earlier version in Joomla 1.5 but can't remember how.

The title and number of downloads are shown by the {hits_title} {hits_value} placeholders. These are usually in the active Files and Detail;s layouts so they just need removing and any associated 'infra-structure such as
. Always remember to make a copy layout because if you edit the default it could at some time be overwritten by an update!
