Title: image preview thumbs quality
Post by: pranky on 01.07.2015 09:46:34
Hello

I've uploaded an image for file preview very large (about 500px x 800px) but in frontend the thumb quality is very very poor. The setting in configuration images is 200px. what's my error?

thanks

Hi,
i can your not say what exactly could be wrong in your case.
The basic is always the quality from the original image.

Fact is that we have in the last years the 'thumbnail creation' script improved some times.
What is your jD version?

Thx for answering!

Yes I think I made something wrong. I'm using Jdownloads 3.2. The original image is about 500x800px at 72 dpi

Do you think that a bigger resolution will improve the thumbs quality? I was thinking if there is the possibility in some file to set the a bigger quality image.

thank you again

Hi
Yes you need higher dpi as 72dpi will be poor in thumbnail creation.  I find it better to use a lower px size but a higher dpi size.  I t is a compromise between loading speed an good visual representation.
