Title: Multilingual component and footer text don't work - [Fixed in 3.2.34!!!]
Post by: patty3769 on 16.06.2015 18:49:48
Hi,

I recently updated from 1.9.6.11 to 3.2.33 and wanted to test the new features of jDownloads in regards of multilanguage sites.
"Config -> Frontend" offers me the possibility to put multilanguage descriptions in the maintenance, subheader and footer area with the help of placeholders:
{en-GB}Automatically assigned description{/en-GB}
{fr-FR}Description automatique par defaut{/fr-FR}
{de-DE}Automatisch erstellte Standardbeschreibung{/de-DE}

This doesn't seam to work at all. The text is shown as-is in the frontend.
After a short source code check, I assume this feature is not (yet) implemented, or is it?

My Specs:
Joomla 3.4.1
jDownloads 3.2.33
PHP 5.3.17

Hi
You need to set up as a multi language site before these work.  It involves several steps.There are many helpful explanations on the web.

Hi,

I do have in fact a fully implemented multi-language site, yet the before mentioned descriptions do not work.
Does jDownloads rely on any sort of (unmentioned) translation plugin?

I use language overrides with a custom code I set in the jD core files ATM, but my goal is to use jD unchanged ...

Hi
jD does not rely on any translation plugin.  I will move this topic to bugs and also PM Arno as he is much more familiar with multi language sites than a mere English person!!!  It would help if you PM Arno/me with site details so we can look
