On the Members, "My Uploads" page, I want to add a small box, with the members total number of downloads, total number in each category. How can I add this?

The nearest you can get with this is the jD Stats module. It produces a report like below. The text of the report is easily changed.
"The download archive contains currently 15 Downloads in 9 Categories. To date, these have been downloaded 30 times."
The default setup only reports on the categories and downloads that the user can see. So in the example above then it was the publicly viewable Cats and Downloads
